Admissions Process

We are always excited to share our environment with new families and look forward to getting to know you!

To apply to The Family School or Family School West, please complete our online application. After the application is submitted, we will be in touch to schedule a visit. We prefer individually scheduled tours to open houses. The tour is a relaxed opportunity for us to spend time together and make sure we are the right setting for your family. We will not conduct a separate parent interview.

For those not currently in New York City, or if you simply prefer to visit a classroom via Zoom, that may be arranged as well. Onsite tours last approximately one hour and will include your child/ren. Zoom tours are led by a teacher in a live classroom and are approximately 20 minutes. For those joining us via Zoom, a second Zoom visit will be arranged for your child to meet with a teacher.

For those joining us onsite, we look forward to showing your our environment at all ages and spending time in several classrooms. We will chat as we tour and answer any questions you have. Your child will not be required to separate from us, though children are welcome and encouraged to do so.

Currently, onsite tours will be scheduled for vaccinated parents only and for one family at a time.

We will begin scheduling tours in September for visits to begin in October. Following the tour, we ask you to follow up with any additional questions, and to confirm your schedule preference for the academic year. We follow ISAAGNY notification and reply dates. You may refer to them with this LINK.

All financial inquiries or questions regarding availability post admissions season should be directed to our Headmistress at the email below.

Of course, feel free to contact us with any questions prior to submitting an application.
